Brief history: The earliest recorded history of macramé-style knots dates back to 600s B.C.E. in the carvings of the Babylonians and Assyrians. Macramé's knot-tying origins can also be traced back to 13th-century Arabic decorative weavers. From here the craft spread across the world and became popular having special artistic value during the Renaissance, when it began to be considered decorative art. In many of these older cultures, knots were used as a symbol of healing and protection.

My Story...

Nestled on the stunning shores of Lake Malawi, my name is Jacqueline Ngulube,
proud founder of Macramé Craft.
Just as every intricate macramé design begins with a single, delicate thread, my journey into this beautiful craft was inspired by a deep-rooted passion to create unique home décor items and art pieces that speak to the heart. Each knot I tie is a blend of artistry and intention, woven with love
and purpose.
My venture is more than just a business - it’s a means of uplifting not only myself but also the local community around me. By offering one-of-a-kind creations, I’m able to channel my creativity into something that supports us all. I take pride in ensuring that every product I make uses only the finest materials, including 100% cotton cords for durability and softness. The wood I incorporate is sustainably sourced from fallen trees, ensuring that every piece remains
eco-conscious and respectful of the
natural environment.
Through my macramé creations, I strive to bring joy, creativity, and warmth into every space they adorn. I invite you to become part of this journey, where every knot becomes
a part of the story.
Here's hoping you'll be a part of it!
Jacqueline.
